The Smudging Ritual: Richard Dawson Tour Portrait 2015 (Documentary)

Back in 2015 i had the houner of traveling around with the mighty balladeer: Richard Dawson. Just after his album ‘Nothing Important’ had been let loose onto the wider public. He already had a few releases out by then, including ‘The Glass Trunk’ which i also made a short film about, watch here. I’d seen him play live in various low-key backrooms in pubs in the past, this film captures performances just past the cusp of his music entering the arena of the overground. I caught up with him through out that year interviewing and filming his shows. The man manages to manifest elemental forces when he’s on stage whilst creating sounds satisfyingly from these here UK isles.
